This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach Spanish to high school students. They are so eager and excited to learn a new language and to be able to put it into practice in their community and with their friends.

I teach in an inner-city school and most of my students are African-American or Hispanic.

All of my students come from disadvantaged backgrounds and receive free lunch. There is a lot of gang violence and crime in the surrounding neighborhoods, but my students are motivated to learn. They are eager to master a new language!

My Project

With the iPad, I can record my lessons and write notes in my presentations as I deliver content to students. My current technology does not allow for this and the quality of my sound and images does not allow my students to fully engage in an otherwise exciting and interactive lesson.

I can deliver content while modeling note-taking and practice for my students.

I can teach students and show them how to do it themselves step by step. My students will be prepared to meet the learning goals themselves as I can help walk them through the material when they have questions. It will be like using my whiteboard in the classroom. It will be awesome to interact with my students as they participate and ask questions!
