Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are fabulous! They come to class ready to learn, ready to work and explore new things every day. They are an energetic crew that wants to learn. They set goals for themselves and then strive to meet them both at school and at home.

My second graders live in a rural/suburban public school district.

The majority receive free or reduced-price lunch. They are constantly working to better their reading level and increase math skills and they love learning new concepts in both science and social studies.

My Project

My students LOVE to learn while cutting, gluing and creating! Colorful paper, spiral notebooks, and glue sticks are needed to help us create interactive journals that students can use both at home and at school.

Our class will use these supplies across the curriculum and in ALL subjects!

We will make colorful study guides that students will use to both review and learn new concepts at school. These study guides will include parts of speech, historical timelines, poetry, beginning geometry and more.These journals will also go home to help inform parents of the skills we are introducing at school.

As these journals travel between home and school, students will gain a sense of responsibility and be better able to share our daily learning with parents at home.
