This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a "title-one" school located in the Los Angeles area. Most of my students qualify for free lunch. I teach upper level classes, AP Biology and Anatomy. My students are intelligent, creative, and thoughtful. Most of my students are going to be first-generation college students. This year I am trying to implement a new teaching strategy that will help my students stay organized. This strategy is called "Interactive Notebooks". For this I need notebooks, markers, glue, color papers, etc., and lots of it. I have already spent 100s of dollars of my own money. Thank you, for helping.

My Project

This year I am doing a new AVID teaching strategy, the Interactive Notebook. This will help my students stay organized as well as express their creativity. I am excited because my Biology students will use the notebook as their lab notebooks. We are in desperate need of classroom supplies. Notebooks, glue, color papers, pens, markers, etc. Since, this is the first year, I have very minimal supplies. My students come from economically disadvantaged families and often cannot buy their won supplies. Please consider donating to our classroom. Every bit of help will be greatly appreciated by us.
