This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Everyday my students face the struggle of staying engaged in their math lessons. This becomes especially challenging when we need to re-teach and review concepts and I run out of new ideas. Using technology is always an engaging way to keep the students engaged. This is where their focus lies! We need a Mimiopad tablet to help us stay focused.

I teach 6th grade students at a Title One school.

The majority of my kids come from low income households in which they get little support with homework because family member are either absent, working, or speak a foreign language. My challenge is to ensure that my students achieve their state mandated standards in both math and science. I strive to provide them with engaging and informative lessons as often as possible, but sometimes, even I run out of ideas!

My Project

I am requesting a resource to incorporate into my lessons to better engage my students and keep them motivated to learn. By incorporating a the use of a Mimiopad interactive tablet into my daily lessons, the students will have the opportunity to participate in bringing their lessons to life and projecting their ideas and work up for the entire class to see. This will give them a sense of pride and accomplishment, as well as the active participation I like to see from them in the classroom! I am also requesting 1 stylus, 1 USB cable, and 1 wireless receiver to use with the Mimiopad tablet.

If you are able to fill our request for these resources, my students will be most grateful to have the opportunity to work with something new, something exciting, and something they will be proud to use to show what they know.
