My students need hands-on tools to develop their math skills. They need to build their fluency in math facts, solve word problems, and understand and manipulate fractions.
This is my first year teaching third grade, and I do not have the classroom budget or tools to develop an engaging math program.
I have a wonderful group of third grade students!
I want to be able to provide the best education for them. My students love hands-on materials and I want to be able to provide this for them. My students' math abilities range from below grade level to above grade level.
My Project
My vision for these hands-on math tools is that my kiddos will use them large group, small group, and independently. Through the use of hot dots my students will build their fluency with basic math facts. The word problem games will be a great tool to use with my challenge math groups as well as when we have a few extra minutes to fill. Fractions are often very difficult for students, and by having a hands tool I can allow them clearly see what fractions are.
