Interactive Lessons

Help me give my students supplies they need to get their work done to the best of their ability. I use interactive notebooks , stickers/candy for homework completion. My students need good headphones to actively work on I-Ready.

My Project

This is my 19th year teaching middle school math and during Covid my entire math department made a huge change to our teaching. We decided to use the "flipped classroom model" so rather than teaching live in class each new concept, my PLC partner and I created interactive notetakers that our students filled out at home while watching a pre-recorded YouTube video of us teaching. Our students paste these notetakers into a comp book for each new module. We also provide our students with a unit calendar that outlines the entire module and students earn stickers on their calendars for assignments completed and turned in on time. Students are definitely driven my incentives (stickers, candy, and gum).

Our district adopted a new intervention program called I-Ready where students work on individual paths to help them close gaps in their learning, students work on this program on laptops and need headphones to listen to the lessons.
