This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Many of the students come from immigrant families. Despite the challenges they face, I look forward to providing them with exciting and meaningful learning experiences.

My students love to be active and enjoy coming to school each day.

They look forward to learning the Whole Brain Teaching way and using what they have learned outside of the classroom, too. The minute they walk into the classroom, I focus on their potential growth and encourage them to do their best. Although I can't change what they experience outside of the classroom, I do my best to make sure I provide them with meaningful learning experiences.

My Project

My students will use the easel as a part of our math and literacy block. The students will write responses on the easel to the questions I have asked during the lesson. For example, they will write facts and opinions about any topic after we discuss the difference.

Did you know that the more the students interact with topics, the better they will remember it?

The math activities that I am asking for will be used during our math stations. They will serve as review and introduction to new lessons that I will be teaching. Each day the students can work on a math problem that will better provide them insight to what will be taught that day.
