My students need hands on learning games to review language and math concepts.
This project expired on May 11, 2013.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Do you remember the first time you completed a puzzle independently? Do you remember how long you worked on the puzzle and the accomplishment you felt when you completed it?
My students are caring, hard working and unique individuals who want to learn but are at a disadvantage because English is their second language.
Our school is in a high poverty area where most residents speak Spanish. The students come to school everyday eager to learn and succeed inside and outside of the classroom.
The language, vocabulary and math puzzles will help the students build a broader vocabulary and understanding of early math concepts. The vocabulary puzzles will help students learn new words to expand their oral and written vocabulary. The math puzzles will help students during whole group and individual activities to gain a strong foundation of beginning math concepts.
The students in my class do not have the luxury of hands on educational game at home and would benefit greatly from hands on learning at school since English is their second language.
Learning and practicing the early reading, writing, vocabulary and math concepts will build a strong foundation for their future education and help them succeed.
