This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A Chinese Proverb states, "Do not confine our children to your own learning, for they were born in another time." That time is the age of interactive learning and technology in the classroom.
The students in my classroom are mostly high poverty, English language learners, and children from military families.
Many of them were born in the desert southwest. Some are here due to military deployments and transfers. Our public school is located in the southwestern desert of Arizona in a rural town. There are 24 eager learners who are excited about their first year in kindergarten.
My Project
It has been my mission to provide the best quality education to all of my students that will prepare them for their future. Preparation is the key! The requested software will be used on the interactive whiteboard and on the computers to engage them in the learning. This generation of learners were born into the age of technology. These children are the video gamers. Once students are completely engaged, their brains turn on to learning and they begin to love it! The software needed will enhance our language arts and mathematics. Students will want to learn about letters, sounds, words, and grammar. They will be excited to use the computer to practice various math skills such as addition, subtraction, number recognition, patterning, and more. School becomes a great place where they can learn, play, and grow. My students will be turned on by technology in the classroom and this will make them ready for a future of learning to come.
Through the use of interactive learning and computers, my students will be able to compete in the real world and most of all, be prepared for the 21st century.
