My Project

In World Geography, our goal is to immerse students in new cultures and help them better understand the world around them. However, traditional teaching methods have proven less effective in fully engaging students at our school. As a team, we are committed to stepping away from those methods and embracing interactive notebooks—a dynamic, hands-on learning tool that encourages creativity and active participation.

Our school is not 1:1 with technology, which has limited our ability to incorporate digital tools consistently.

Rather than seeing this as a barrier, we see it as an opportunity. Interactive notebooks allow students to keep all of their classwork, notes, and creative activities in one place, building a personal reference they can revisit throughout the year—especially as they prepare for the SOL test.

Beyond content, we aim to teach students valuable skills that have been diminished by constant reliance on technology: organization, critical thinking, and the ability to create with their hands.

The materials we are requesting will be shared among our entire team of World Geography teachers. By collaborating across classrooms, we hope to provide every student with an engaging and consistent experience that supports deeper learning and sparks curiosity about the world.

We greatly appreciate your consideration and support as we work together to make this vision a reality for our students.
