My Students
My student population is extremely diverse. In a class of 20 Kindergarten students, I typically have 7-10 students who speak another language at home (and of those, about 5-7 are different languages-Spanish, Mandarin, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Turkish, Punjabi- just to name a few!). My students enjoy using technology on a daily basis. The technology allows for greater interaction and increased fun for the students. The classroom revolves around interactive hands-on assignments through small group and student exploration.
Students need interactive cooperative learning centers to help increase their social learning skills that were lost while being more isolated than normal.
My Project
These materials will create a large interactive cooperative learning center that can be used by multiple groups at the same time to work on many skills such as counting, addition, subtraction, letters, spelling, and writing. With a large movable magnetic board, students will easily be able to work together both indoors and outdoors.
Cooperative learning was hit hard during COVID restrictions.
This center will be able to be used to cover most Kindergarten standards such as ELA K.W.1, ELA K.W.7, ELA K.SL.1, and ELA K.SL.6 as well as many more.
