My students need seven interactive smart board software including Rockin Rhyme Game and Let's Learn Phonics to improve their phonics and literacy during our Literacy Station time.
"We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher's hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world."
David Warlick
People often ask how I survive in a classroom with six-year olds everyday, and I reply with, "How do you survive working with adults all day long?" My 19 sweet and smiling faces amaze me everyday.
The powers that be are asking more and more of our children every year and I often doubt my student's ability and my own, but they still never cease to amaze me with what they can actually learn.
My Project
We go to Literacy Stations every day. I use this time to pull small groups to my table to work on new concepts or students who are still struggling with older ones. My students rotate daily to different stations, one being our interactive Promethean Board. The literacy computer programs I am requesting, are projected onto the board from my computer and the students use an interactive pen to navigate their way through. My students will be using these programs to enhance their phonics and literacy skills as we progress throughout the year. They not only love the games and technology but the sense of "being teacher" while they are up there.
Donations of any kind, make a difference in education.
We are currently the largest non-title school in our district. This means we are doing the same amount of work as smaller schools with a LOT less funds and less support staff members. By receiving new literacy games, they will not only improve their learning but make it a little more fun in the process.
