My Students

As a teacher in a low-income rural area, my students face many challenges both inside and out of the classroom. My kids love to use technology to expand their learning, practice present and past skills, have fun with exploring new ideas and get ready for their standardized test!

My 2nd Graders is comprised of 20 awesome students and they would love to have an updated interactive ActivPanel Touch screen display.

They don't have a lot in life and for them to know that they can come to school to have the best classroom experience would make their day!

My Project

With time comes change and evolution and I believe that it should also apply in schools and classrooms. Currently in my classroom I have an outdated whiteboard, and anchor chart paper to use when presenting lessons.

It is not always engaging to my students or the most convenient to use but we do our best with the resources given.

I not only want to present the content being taught, I want my students to be able to manipulate and edit the information given to them to better understand the lesson at hand and I believe an interactive touch-screen will allow this to happen.

I allow my students to take responsibility in their learning which means a lot of my lessons are student-centered and student led. In second grade, most of my students are visual and kinesthetic learners and this will tie both learning styles into one. This would be used everyday and can be used for all subjects. This also will allow students to collaborate, communicate, and use their critical thinking skills when completing tasks using the interactive touch-screen. Although it is pricey, I believe this will impact all my students and they’re engagement to learn.
