Help me give my students quality remote instruction. I need a space to work and a means to be able to move around and interact. The AirPods will allow me to move!
I teach in a suburban school in a district with school choice. While some of my students come from middle-class families, many of them live in impoverished neighborhoods with little access to the tools they need to be successful in the classroom. These students show up each day ready to grow personally and academically despite the challenges they face elsewhere.
Teaching students to collaborate is one of the key components of my classroom.
Students are encouraged to work together to investigate texts and craft various genres of writing. Creativity is encouraged and my students love to demonstrate their understanding in many ways --when they have the supplies to do so.
My Project
I currently do not have an office space or classroom space at home. I taught Spring semester sitting at my kitchen table. I have two teens who were also remote learning. We've cleared a small room, so having a desk and the earbuds will allow me so have a focused space from which to teach and the means to move about that space wirelessly. I have a white board and I want to finish out my space in a way that shows my students I am prepared to teach and interact!
My students need to see organization and that I've taken the time to care about what will work best; so having a home classroom space is imperative!
I am not a lecturer, so the ability to move and use my space to teach actively is important as well.
