Having a class set of novels has completely transformed the way we read, discuss, and think together.\r\n\r\nIn the past, students often had to share or rely on digital excerpts, which made close reading difficult. Now, each student can hold the book, underline passages, and return to key moments as we explore Ishiguro's haunting questions about love, memory, and what it means to be human. This hands-on engagement has deepened their reading comprehension, analysis, and discussion skills in ways I couldn't have imagined before.\r\n\r\nThrough Klara and the Sun, my students are learning to trace motifs, analyze unreliable narration, and think critically about technology's role in shaping empathy and identity. Our discussions often spill over into debates about artificial intelligence, social isolation, and the future of humanity—topics that resonate deeply with seniors preparing to step into a rapidly changing world.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom now feels alive. Students read aloud, annotate in the margins, and jot questions to bring up in our Socratic seminars. One student who had struggled to stay engaged earlier in the semester told me, \"I didn't expect to care this much about a robot—but Klara feels real.\" Another student, a budding computer science major, connected the novel to ethics in AI and even wrote an essay exploring parallels between Ishiguro's world and current technology trends.\r\n\r\nYour support has given my students the opportunity to experience literature as it's meant to be experienced: personally, deeply, and together. I have used the copy paper and the brightly colored paper in each of my classes - we have online textbooks now and that prevents students from being able to interact with the texts. I have printed copies of the texts with embedded questions for students, some of whom have IEPs that require this modification. I used the brightly colored paper to make data tracking documents for my English II students to use as they monitor their path towards standards mastery.\r\n\r\nMy district has cut almost 400 positions and there are not funds for supplies. Trying to schedule teaching the text around the other 10t- grade teachers was a nightmare!\r\n\r\nThank you for helping me bridge the gap by providing a class set of the required read for 10th grade. The classroom supplies - sticky notes, pens, pencils, etc. - allow me to create supply bins for each table so students have what they need without having to ask. This protects my students who may not have their own supplies to bring from being singled out. Your support has made a real and lasting impact on our learning environment, and I'm excited to share how your kindness is helping my students thrive.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, the printer is more than just a tool—it's a gateway to creativity, discovery, and meaningful engagement. Because of your donation, we can now print student writing, research projects, maps, current events articles, and more. These printed materials help bring our lessons to life and allow students to interact with content in a more personal and hands-on way.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding outcomes has been watching students light up when they see their work printed and displayed. Whether it's a thoughtful essay, a science diagram, or a creative story, having a tangible copy of their work gives them a sense of pride and accomplishment. It's a small gesture that makes a big difference in how they view themselves as learners.\r\n\r\nYour support has also allowed us to incorporate more real-world resources into our lessons. We've been able to print news articles for class discussions, differentiated worksheets to meet diverse learning needs, and visual aids that help clarify complex topics. These materials have enriched our curriculum and made learning more accessible and engaging for every student.\r\n\r\nBut perhaps most importantly, your generosity has shown my students that there are people out there who believe in them and their potential. Many of them face challenges outside the classroom, and knowing that someone cared enough to invest in their education is incredibly powerful. It's a lesson in kindness and community that they will carry with them.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your incredible support. These printed materials bring our lessons to life and allow students to engage with content in a hands-on, interactive way.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting changes we've seen is the pride students take in seeing their work printed and displayed. Whether it's a poem they've written, a science report they've researched, or a historical timeline they've created, having a physical copy of their work gives them a sense of accomplishment and ownership. It's a small but powerful boost to their confidence and motivation.\r\n\r\nYour support has also allowed us to incorporate more real-world materials into our lessons. We've been able to print news articles for classroom discussions, worksheets tailored to individual learning needs, and visual aids that help make complex topics more accessible. It teaches them about generosity, community, and the power of giving back.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for making this possible.
