My Project

My students come from poverty. They live in rural areas with single parents. My English language learners, from communities of color, are faring the worst during the pandemic. They are more likely to be disproportionately affected by the learning materials at home, digital divide, and likely to experience the greatest learning loss.

The resources from Lakeshore, like the Phonics Building Books Set, will provide hands-on learning that allows students to learn through experiencing something and can give them an opportunity to immerse themselves in a learning environment, while putting their acquired skills to use and building new skills.

Children learn while discussing, investigating, creating, and discovering with other students. Through hands-on activities, children are encouraged to learn through exploration. Hands-on learning develops thinking skills. The senses are engaged through physical participation in learning. Through their seven senses, children develop an understanding of their world and engage with different learning styles.
