My students need an iPad to use technology in several ways to support the new core curriculum. I will use an iPad to help integrate technology into my science and math.
Our students are using outdated technology in the classroom and computer lab. Students take pride in what they learn and enjoy sharing their work with their peers. We lack a visual method for presentations in the classroom. The IPad will be used to project each students work onto a big screen.
Walking into my 2nd grade classroom, you will see thirty-one energetic, perceptive seven and eight year old children.
These students come from mostly middle and low income families. Our school of 546 students is in a smaller community of a large county. We are a close knit school with 4 special education classes mainstreaming into all other classrooms. My school vision is to make my classroom a home for the mind that respects each students learning style.
My students will be working on projects all year in science and math. We will use the iPad to save and share slide shows of their science and math projects. Then the students will share their projects in class with their peers, and of course at open house. In this way the students will be actively engaged in their own learning while sharing their individual thoughts on a given subject. Each student will feel more empowered and incredibly positive about themselves through their individual class science and math projects.
My Project
I will customize each students learning experience through the use of an iPad in my classroom giving each student the feeling of magic. Through the use of the iPad as a classroom tool I will teach my students to present science and math project to their peer. I will take a practical as well as creative approach when teaching my students how to present science and math projects to their peers and parents. Each student will learn to use the iPad to develop their own presentation in science and math to share with their peers.
The iPad has been proved to inspire students and transform learning in a classroom setting for the presenter as well as the audience. Since education is evolving due to the impact of the children I what to help my students learn to engage in their own learning experience through project base core curriculum presentations.
I will develop appropriate and effective strategies to use technology to facilitate the childrens learning through positive presentations.
My students will benefit through the process of learning to us the iPad for their presentations.
They will be learning to using modern technology as a tool to enhance their presentations of the information they have found, and the lessons they have learned in science and math. I will be deliberate in the skills and applications that I teach my students. I will be able to evaluate what my students have learned through their slide show presentations and projects that they share with their peers
