Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are special because they overcome obstacles often and still come to school eager and ready to learn. I teach at a school where 100 percent of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are faced with challenges within and outside of the classroom often. I strive to create a fun and loving environment for my students where they feel safe and successful. With your help, I will be able to provide more opportunities for my students.

My Project

Having a fun new way to expose my students to common core standards would be phenomenal! By helping us get mini Spheros it will allow my student to interact with technology while still practicing the required standards. This resource will allow me to expose my students to STEM activities. My students will get to explore using robotics and coding through play while also learning about specific concepts like directionality, speed, and angles. Using these Spheros will also help students to be critical thinkers and problem solver. If we receive these materials my students will be very excited about learning in a hands-on engaging way. We are in need of more hands-on materials within my classroom. My students will also need a safe place to store our Spheros in, that is why we are asking for two cases.

Giving low-income students in a Title I school an opportunity to learn in a fun engaging way would be awesome.

This project will make my students excited about learning. They will look forward to using these materials each and every day.
