This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

“There can be infinite uses of the computer and of new age technology, but if teachers themselves are not able to bring it into the classroom and make it work, then it fails.” - Nancy Kassebaum

Our school is a low income school which provides free breakfast and lunch for students.

A majority of these students come from single parent homes and attend after school care. They do not have access to proper technology at home which would allow them to access a variety of websites that will improve their reading and math skills. My class consists of 28 students, most of who are English Language Learners and Special Education students.

My Project

Our 2 classroom computers are not reliable and are not always in working condition. These new Chromebooks would allow my students much needed access to learning sites. Students will use these Chromebooks to access learning websites such as Ten Mark, Read Theory, Footsteps 2 Brilliance, and Xtra Math. Not only will they be used to access these sites, but they can also be used during Science and Social Students research projects.

Your donation to this project will not only improve my classroom, but the other grade 3 classrooms as well.

Students will have the proper technology and ample time to take advantage of various websites and interactive games that will improve their learning. By using the Chromebooks in class, I can provide proper support to students that they are not receiving at home.
