Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 300 awesome students about physical education and physical literacy. Many of our students come from a low-income community, 99% of our school's population is at-risk and is on free or reduced lunch.
These kids are AWESOME!
They are full of love, energy, and curiosity, especially when it comes to health and physical activity! Through the implementation of physical activity and health concepts I hope to help my scholars to find ways to improve not only their school days but their home lives also which will create a better all around culture. I may not be able to control their home lives, however I do have the ability to guide them throughout their elementary PE experience. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire lifelong learners physically, mentally, and emotionally.
My Project
I am requesting the Apple MacBook Air to help with teaching movements and skills and to increase the success rate of my students based on continuous video example through the ability to make movies on the laptop. The laptop will allow us to participate in numerous activities with a simple video instruction created by the instructor, allowing for more time to provide feedback and correction for greater student success.
Our lessons are constructed to give our students the skills and attributes to create and promote physical activity and physical literacy!
Our students will encourage one another as they each complete each task. They will also have the ability to assess their own movements by having a constant visual from the movies that will be created.
The laptop will also be used to collect and record data. Students will have the ability to record their self and peer assessments using the laptop creating an efficient environment which will lead to an accurate evaluation and progression into more challenging activities.
This educational instrument will give the students a chance to improve their success rate and increase their likelihood of continued practice and participation in physical activities individually and as a team. Thank you for taking the time to check out our class project.
