This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our elementary is a small school located on the outskirts of Brownsville, Texas right next to the Rio Grande River. It is part of B.I.S.D., and is a school that is evolving everyday. Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 100% of our students receiving free lunch.

Unfortunately we don't have enough funds to provide all of our students with every single thing they need but they continue to grow despite the obstacles and are students are succeeding.

I am here to represent our students and help them become knowledgeable on a healthy lifestyle. I want them to leave at the end of the year with the desire to stay active and healthy. I want to be able to promote a love for exercise! In order to accomplish this, we need the appropriate and sufficient equipment, so all my students are interactive during their 45 minutes of Physical Education.

My Project

The three items I am requesting funding for my students are; an Ipad, a gopro, and a printer. With the Ipad the students can record their data for Fitness Gram Testing (state fitness test) and also to help keep fitness logs. The go pro is to capture high speed pictures of the student playing sports and different activities we do in P.E. class. Finally the printer would be use to print pictures and data to post in gym wall so students can see it daily and progress being made. I believe that having visuals will help the students stay motivated to keep an healthy lifestyle.
