This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This 3rd grade class is the best! We have 21 students who are extremely eager about learning and always ready for a new challenge. Many students in the class are learning English as a second language, but that does not stop them from wanting to succeed and reach for the stars.

Our class is made up of students from a colorful and diverse mix of cultures and economic backgrounds.

Our families come from all over the world including Mexico, El Salvador, Samoa, Pakistan, Turkey, Bosnia, and the Navajo Nation to just name a few. It is truly an honor to teach this extraordinary group of children!

My Project

My students LOVE science and LOVE to read! Please help nurture these eager minds. Having access to a high quality informational text will not only help my students learn science but also improve their reading skills.

Many of my students do not have books to read at home due to economic limitations.

By providing a quality grade level Scholastic magazine, my students will be able to practice their literacy skills while learning vital science content standards at the same time. After interacting with the text at school, the students will be able to take the magazines home to work on their daily reading fluency practice and review critical science concepts as well.
