My Students

We are a 21st-century school that loves hands-on learning. Half of our student population qualifies to receive free or reduced price lunch.

My students are inquisitive and curious.

Some of my students are facing some unique challenges this year with social and emotional wellness issues. Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly.

We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, and group work to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!

My Project

I am requesting a variety of books and supplies to integrate art and science. Students love to read books and then take a concept from that book and expand their knowledge by engaging in an activity that furthers their knowledge about that topic. Science is an especially interesting and necessary topic to create more dialogue and experience around.

Experiments with these materials will be engaging and edifying directly related to our standards.

The art supplies will help cement ideas and learning in an interesting and integrated way. By integrating art into science, students understand the inter-relatedness of everything they learn. This method of teaching and learning also promotes creativity and collaboration. And all of this leads to scientific literacy.
