This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are diverse and they all strive to be "civic-minded leaders, accomplished writers, and resilient lifelong learners." Becoming lifelong learners means that our students must be exposed to a variety of academic tasks as well as enrichment opportunities that involve the arts.
We all have mediums with which we prefer to create and fond memories of projects we have created in the past.
I look forward to providing opportunities that my students will never forget. Research has found that hands-on exploration facilitates learning in other subjects and enhances skills that children use in other areas. My students will appreciate using the arts and crafts supplies to freely express themselves and create.
My Project
The items in this project will help my students have engaging hands-on supplies with which they can explore and produce. For example, having stencils and rainbow scratch paper will encourage students create their own projects. Using string and beads to make necklaces will also improve their small motor coordination and dexterity. The books will help us learn about famous artists as well as how to bravely create and experiment with art supplies. Likewise, research has found that learning through the arts facilitates learning in other subjects and enhances skills that children inevitably use in other areas. The various supplies will help students envision, explore, and create will inspire creativity.
