My school is a Title I school focused on the arts. Two thirds of our students qualify for the Free or Reduced Lunch program. For most of these kids, the free band and music class at school is the only opportunity their family can afford to have them play an instrument.
Students would be able to continue their arts education and practice at home by purchasing an instrument through our school store.
Earning points to purchase these supplies will help the students to value the supplies and instruments. It will also help their understanding of an economy and promote a desire to grow and learn.
