My students need Chromebooks, so they can have more experience with technology.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Our school is located in historic Selma, AL. We are located in a low income area. Many of my students face lots of challenges beyond the educational realm. Consequently, they lack many of the necessary resources for school.
Conversely, despite the challenges they endure, my bright fourth grade students are curious, extremely energetic, and eager to construct knowledge.
They are becoming avid readers as they continue to develop a passion for reading.
They love engaging in hands-on activities that require out of the box thinking. They flourish when engaging with technology. They are becoming proficient with various tools in technology which is required for college and careers.
We are located in a low-income area and my students are presented with limited resources. Although resources are limited, I must meet the needs of my students. My students come to the classroom with varying skill sets, abilities, and interests which requires differentiated instruction.
The 2 Dell Chromebooks and two HP Chromebooks will allow me to provide my students with differentiated instruction to meet their needs.
Although our classroom has a few chromebooks, it's only enough for a small group of students to use at one time. If I had more chromebooks, my students will be able to fully engage in activities. They will be able to complete tasks online, submit assignments, engage in distant learning opportunities, take virtual trips; and communicate and collaborate with peers and teachers. The students will be able to create digital portfolios, work on standards-based internet programs; and create digital stories and videos, as well as do research for projects.
