This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are mostly minority students and most of them come from a low-income family background. They are very active and enjoy coming to school and learning science.
They are always ready to learn new skills and explore new opportunities, but the unavailability of resources makes it hard for them to understand some of the abstract concepts that I teach; therefore, the need to explain the concepts in ways that make them real, captivating and interesting becomes imperative.
My students enjoy completing class projects that involve hands-on experiments, programming, art and research, which helps them express their understanding of chemistry concepts in their own way by creating new meanings of their discoveries.
My Project
This project would help my students learn about the environment. It involves research study where students have to find out about global warming. Our country experienced a lot of hurricanes last year and we suffered tremendously as a result. We lost lives and property in many areas.
According to research, last year recorded a lot of storms, hurricanes, and floods.
2017 is among the top seven most active seasons on record. My students would conduct research by using the tablets find to out why we had such an active year in terms of natural disasters. The charging station would help students charge the tables and the tablet cases would protect the tablets from cracks due to accidental fall or drops. The Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote would allow students to watch educational programs as well as movie documentaries that relate to science.
This project is going to improve the lives of my students because they would discover the direct cause of environmental changes and what everyone in the community can do to help improve the environment.
