My students with autism are amazing. I am a special day teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am trying to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are excited to explore and learn to expand their capacity for critical thinking.
They take pride in their efforts and are willing to challenge their minds for the sake of learning.
My Project
My students are noticeably more engaged when they have hands-on activities to help them understand STEM. Instructional technology such as Ozobot robots will help my students to learn basic programing. Ozobot robots can identify lines, colors, and codes on both digital surfaces such as an iPad, and physical surfaces such as paper. My students will learn to train the robots to follow patterns on the surface that they roll over.
My students will learn STEM by coding and problem solving while having fun as they program the Ozobot robots.
This type of instructional technology helps students feel comfortable with the idea of robotics and programming.
