My Students

My 7th grade students are a diverse group with lots of energy, enthusiasm, and determination. They love to have fun but also know when to get serious and do their work.

I teach 90 amazing students.

Two classes are English Language Learners and two classes are Special Education. The diversity of my classes allows my students to learn real world skills of collaboration and communication as well as being a thoughtful citizen. The diversity has many pros but also presents some challenges with individualized supports.

My Project

In order to differentiate for my students, I offer video style notes that students can listen to. This allows them to pause the video if they take longer to write, rewind it if they need to hear a part again, or turn on captions to read what I say. In order to offer this to the entire class, we need more headphones for students who do not have their own.

This method allows for great differentiation, and the students love it.

The classroom calculators and holder will allow the students access to a calculator during specific units and to keep them organized in a specific spot.
