Help me give my students a vision of color! The online curriculum I use with my students is presented in color on the computer but prints in black and white often losing many of the important details.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in an urban high school where the majority of students live below the poverty line.
I have served in this district as a special education teacher for 20 years and happily continue to do so.
Teaching is my passion, my calling and I could not imagine doing anything else in this world.
My present classroom contains 10 significant intellectually disabled students, ages 16-19, of varying functioning levels. Two of my students use wheelchairs, five of my students are ELL’s ( English Language Learners) and one student is nonverbal.
Due to the handicapping conditions of my students preparing them to enter the adult world as independent as they can be is a high priority.
My Project
Having a color printer would allow me to print my online curriculum in color. This is important for students with intellectual disabilities because they rely so heavily on picture supports and symbols when reading to assist them in word predictions and comprehending what they are reading. Many of the details in the pictures are too dark due to the black and white printers and students are unable to see all the details needed to assist them. Other students in the building are given resources in the form of books that are in color and I would like to offer my students the same respect and maximize their learning activities.
