This project is fully funded
I work with Special Needs students at a title one low-income school. Our funds are very limited and there is no extra money for the things that make learning so much fun. My kids are great and are so anxious to learn new skills. However it takes a lot of hands on, developmentally appropriate materials for them to learn. I have recently started a science center in my classroom. My students get so excited when we do science projects and are so interested in learning. The problem is that I don't have the materials I need to provide the science activities I would like to. Most of the items in my science center are things I have gathered and made. I am in need of hands on science materials to add to our Science center. Lakeshore Learning has a set of Instant Science Trays. Each tray focuses on a different concept, and comes with enough materials for up to 4 students at once so they're perfect for science centers and independent exploration: A Magnetic Field Wonder Window that kids can just glide a magnet over the top to get an incredible view of magnetism in action, a Sink or Float Exploration Kit, a What's That Sound? Listening Center, a Big Screen Microscope that would let students get an incredibly up-close view of pollen, cells, insect wings and more, and a complete set of Insect, Vegetables, Animal and Plant slide kit for making observations and observing characteristics of plants & animals.
These wonderful materials would make learning about Science so interesting and fun. I know this will enhance the learning in my classroom and foster a love of science for every child. Please consider funding this proposal for my special kids.
