My Project
Wonder: I will admire and learn with all my heart. In my second grade classroom, I strive to foster a community where we wonder together. We find great joy in asking the "why" and "how" things work. The items I am requesting are valuable tools to further foster this sense of wonder. Being a first year teacher, I am asking for quality items which will be cared for and well loved for many years to come.
The donations to this project will allow my students to examine preserved plant and animal specimens, fostering their admiration and love of nature within our classroom.
It is one thing to hear and read about plants and animals, but it is another to be able to hold and examine real items of discovery. I hope to examine the artifacts as a class, but also make them available for my students to explore on their own. My students will have access to explore the specimens throughout the day, not restricting its availably solely a science block. My wish is to instill a foundation of wonder which will only flourish for years to come.
