I will once again be working with a diverse group of Kindergarten students in an Integrated Co-Teaching setting. These students are unique in personalities, needs and learning styles. They present with a large range of abilities, strengths and talents. Likewise they all learn in a different capacity.
We strive for academic growth in every single one of our students through use of modified activities and academic modifications.
Kindergarten is a very motivated and eager group of learners. They work hard everyday to achieve their goals. We want to make sure the curriculum is accessible to each and every one of these amazing students so they will learn to work hard, set appropriate goals and learn to utilize their strengths to complete tasks.
My Project
Instructional and behavioural modifications are an integral part of a Kindergarten ICT classroom.
Accommodations and instructional modifications are designed to support students and ensure access to the same material as their peers—without lowering the academic expectations.
Having a color printer in the classroom will allow us to create instant accommodations for students including modified activities, enlarging print, providing visual cues and creating individualized charts and directions. This will allow each student to get what they need to successfully accomplish an activity when they need it.
The iPad will be used as a hub to search for, collect and store tools for future use. It's small size will allow us to move around the classroom and work with individual students in real time. This will ensure that students can participate in creating their activities according to their needs and interests.
