Help me give my students instant access to fun and engaging learning centers. The Lakeshore Learning Phonics Flip Books and Language Quickies will be used to let students practice phonetic skills through word building and picture sorting.
My students come from diverse cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds and in our classroom, we celebrate our differences and work together to achieve our best.
In my class, we build a community where all students are challenged, engaged, and most of all loved!
We love to learn through play and utilize our natural curiosity to teach us about the world. Our school has a large population of English learners and families who receive free breakfast and free/reduced lunch, including students from local shelters. My students come to my classroom, all at various ability levels, excited and ready to learn.
My Project
These materials will give my students quick access to engaging and thoughtful academic centers. Students will use learning mats alongside the various hands-on materials, like play-doh, sticks, rubber bands, and pom-poms to create and explore letters, numbers, and academic pictures. The cubes, people, and UNO game will be used to create towers and explore number sense.
The hands-on activities in this project will engage students creatively and allow them to produce and explore literacy and math through tactile experiences.
Students will be able to enhance their phonics knowledge through the whisper phones, which will let them hear their letter names and sounds individually. The puzzles will encourage students to match alphabet letters in a fun and colorful way. The modeling clay will enhance students fine motor skills and assist them in writing and art by strengthening their grasp.
