Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students have worked hard to learn how to write correct sentences and paragraphs. They need encouragement to continue to work on these areas. I have chosen a project that will do just that. They will be writing their own class book to be published.
The supplies that I am asking for will help the students meet this goal.
The class will need copy paper so they can have clear instructions on what is expected of them for this project. I will also provide for my students that need a little extra help, a step-by-step simpler direction. They will all receive a graphic organizer to put down their ideas. They will use the writing notebooks for writing, editing and rewriting their paper. This is where having pencils available and erasers, will come in handy. The graph paper will be used to help the keep track of where they are in the project, which will keep them on task and more focused. I will have files for each student to keep all their work together in on place. They will use the construction paper to make a cover for their practice book, using the scissors and glue. They will use the drawing paper to illustrate the part of the book they wrote about. After the rewrites, they will type their papers to be printed out. Thier will be two copies, one for their practice book and one for their final book.
Once all the papers have been completed and their illustrations, I will send their work in to be published.
This book will show the students and their families how the hard work their child did in class led to this accomplishment.
