Inspiring Students to Be Empowered Through Technology!

My Students

The students I serve are from the side of Chicago which is considered a poverty-stricken area. Students look for our school to provide resources in social emotional learning and mental health to help them heal from the trauma and the changes we are facing this school year.

My students are enthusiastic learners, but, due to COVID-19, there have been barriers.

Currently, our students are learning in a hybrid model. They have thrived under several difficult situations including the impact of being unable to socialize with their classmates face-to-face. Some of them are missing out on in-person schooling because of COVID-19.

I provide hybrid learning which includes individual and group counseling and lessons on emotions, feelings, study skills, career development, and classroom management. I provide teachers with resources to cope with emotions, trauma, grief, self-esteem loss, conflict, depression, bullying, loneliness, and suicide.

My Project

My students would benefit tremendously from having these iPads because they will have access to apps to improve their learning journey in a host of different ways. This technology will give them an interactive experience to research, explore virtually, create video, record notes, present, and download instructional materials.

In addition, these iPads will allow students to capture information in an inexpensive way and bring education to life.

Most importantly, they will make learning more engaging and memorable. Finally, students will be able to give input and feedback instantly using the apps.
