Positive energy, creativity, and a variety of interests is what my third graders are full of! We have worked to create a caring, uplifting, kind learning space that kids will call "home" during the day. Creating this comfortable, differentiated, engaging environment - helps provide students a safe place to learn. A safe place to make mistakes. A safe place to grow and challenge themselves. While I have been working to create this environment, we could use a little extra help!
My classroom is FILLED with hardworking learners on a variety of levels, from a variety of backgrounds, and speak different languages.
This year I am departmentalized and teach reading to two different classes! Some students have fallen in love with certain series of books, some students are still on the prowl for their favorite series that is "just right" for them. I have students who learn best when they are channeling their energy using special seating, while some students like to get comfy using cushions. Each child is unique, each child learns in a variety of ways. With these resources, it will help each child achieve their own success.
My Project
These resources will help provide a variety of engaging topics, genres, and ability levels to my students. My hope is to help each student find something they ENJOY to read! Students reading during our literacy block and I integrate it into our science/social studies time.
Once they enjoy what they are reading, it will open new doors for improving fluency and comprehension which will help build confidence.
