My Students

My students love school. In our classroom, we function like a family in an environment that promotes positive social interactions around respect, responsibility, and safe behaviors.

We embody the Hawaiian values of aloha, malama, kuleana, and kokua.

We care for one another and promote kindness to everyone and focus on our responsibility to our community and island. My students work hard, they have a growth mindset that drives them to want to reach their goals and they encourage their peers to do the same.

I hope to continue their love of learning and encourage them to be interested in the world around us.

My Project

Our focus this year is literacy! Great readers, writers, speakers. I would like to implement Daily 5 literacy stations in my classroom this year. My students need chapter books, materials for word work, and the organization of our stations during literacy block.

Literacy opens the doors for lifelong learning!

I want to provide my third graders with access to new books, to instill interest in reading. We also need to keep organized in our classroom with chair storage sacks to store our books and Daily 5 folder for word work and writing. We need a visual timer to know when to rotate stations. The cart drawer will be helpful with organizing the letter stamps and tiles and other activities from teachers pay teachers that students can use to practice spelling and writing.
