Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project will provide funding to purchase math manipulatives for two intervention classrooms, one at an elementary (K-2) school. The goal of this project is to support students who struggle with foundational mathematical concepts by providing them with tactile, hands-on tools to improve comprehension and retention of addition, subtraction, and number sense.
Manipulatives, like counting bears, ten frames, and addition cards, will allow students to visualize those abstract concepts, making math more accessible, engaging, and understandable.
These resources are crucial for addressing gaps in learning and boosting student confidence in math, ultimately leading to improved academic outcomes.
By providing students with high-quality math manipulatives, I can help them develop a deeper understanding of math, improve their problem-solving skills, and build their confidence in their abilities.
