My Students

In my classroom you will find 20 smiling faces who have a true zeal for learning. As you can imagine, putting that many 5 and 6 year olds in a room together can get quite loud.

If you walked by our door at any given moment of the day you would see children engaged in various activities helping them develop their craft as a student to become life long learners.

Our classroom welcomes parents and fellow teachers in the hope that we help inspire their love of learning also!

My Project

Classroom instruction is moving away from the boring, whole group, lecture style approach to the more student-centered, small group, individualized instruction that children need to reach their full potential. These books and materials will help me become a better practitioner in mathematics instruction.

With these books and materials I can help lead my fellow teachers and parents in best practices to help children succeed in math.

I would lead my colleagues in a Wisdom Wednesday professional development opportunity related to beginning guided math instruction. I would also host a family game night for parents which could help them find ways to assist their children at home.
