My Project
I am a special education 6:1:1 teacher for high school students with moderate to severe disabilities. Our school has been focusing on teaching our students compassion and kindness this school year. My wonderful students take part in a volunteer worksite, doing community service for our entire school promoting respect and kindness. We maintain the Leadership Center, where students who get "caught being kind" by their teacher or administrators can come select a reward. However, there have been many requests for specific motivating items that we don't currently have in stock.
We are requesting nail polish, action figures, and other student-requested items to stock our Leadership center!
My students will unpack these items, organize and take inventory of all items, shelve them, and upload pictures of them to our online website. My students will create posters showcasing our new items, and go class to class to tell other students what we have in stock! Then, other students can come in weekly to select items of their choice after being caught demonstrating kindness to others! If the other classes select items online, my students will be the one to fulfill orders and make deliveries.
We are hoping to continue this kindness initiative, but need your help to stock our center! Receiving these items will motivate our entire school to express kindness and compassion to others!
