This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have a diverse group of students. Their ability levels range in ability from students who struggle in school due to learning disabilities, to gifted. One common characteristic among all students is their enthusiasm for learning.
I work diligently to plan exemplary literacy lessons and activities that challenge the students, but also allow them to use their unique talents and abilities to showcase or demonstrate their depth of knowledge.
I want to motivate and inspire my students to become lifelong learners.
My Project
I am requesting a subscription to Scholastic Storyworks magazine to meet today's rigorous standards and prepare for testing.
Storyworks is designed to support today's challenging literacy standards with authentic texts that help students in reading, writing, speaking and listening, and language domains.
The word and reading games would provide opportunities for students to be actively engaged in their learning and demonstrate their content-area knowledge. The construction paper, ink, pens, and colored pencils will be used in our writing station. These materials enhance students' writing assignments and allow them to publish their work to share with their learning community and families. The English Language Learners and students with special needs will use the headphones during reading intervention lessons to listen to stories or use the text to speech to access a variety of texts.
To enhance our learning environment, we create a variety of anchor charts. Our data board is used to share student success and growth. The vinyl will be used to create charts, graphs, and other documents to help students comprehend the skills that are being addressed in the lessons.
