Help me give my students an opportunity to become Future Fashion Entrepreneurs while creating design concepts, marketing strategies and business plans to create & promote merchandise such as bags, socks, shirts and more, all from conception to reality.

My Project

Students love fashion! What better way to learn about the fashion, merchandising and retail pathway than creating and designing your own merchandise while exploring the fashion industry including types of businesses, history, current trends, and the creation of fashion utilizing the elements and principles of design.

The students will develop their own innovative fashion line using the heat transfer sheets, cotton fabric, and sewing supplies.

Classes will design and create t-shirts, canvas bags, socks and other retail merchandise while understanding the concepts and processes needed to obtain, develop, maintain, and improve a product mix in response to market opportunities. Students will develop a fashion promotion plan utilizing the promotional mix. Students will utilize pricing strategies to maximize return on merchandising efforts and meet customers’ perception of value. This project will take up a majority of the school year. Students’ final project will be to complete a business plan.
