This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Sometimes reading a good book leads to so many new discoveries. I'm hoping to use these good books to inspire my students.
I teach at a gifted magnet school in which most students are reading above grade level and performing above their peers.
Due to their high level of achievement, I try to find activities that will take them beyond reading grade level text. Part of this includes writing their own books.
My Project
It is my hope that with the books I'm requesting, my students will be inspired to create their own books. They already write their own version of a folktale and thanks to donors like you, my students now have many versions of folktales to motivate them when writing their books. With the books in this proposal, including Press Here by Herve Tullet and other books about creativity, students will will be inspired to write a different kind of book, using their creativity to think out of the box.
I thank you in advance for your contribution to our class project.
I know that having quality and inspiring literature will help my students meet their full potential, academically and creatively.
