This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Join us as we embark on a transformative educational journey in Chicago's West Side, where we aim to empower a classroom of young students through critical engagement with Angela Davis's seminal work, "Women, Race, and Class." This campaign seeks to procure 80 copies of the book to enable each student to explore the intersections of gender, race, and socioeconomic status, fostering a profound understanding of the systemic barriers that shape their lives and communities.

Our students, predominantly from communities of color, are eager to understand the forces that impact their daily experiences and aspirations.

"Women, Race, and Class" provides a powerful framework for analyzing the challenges related to identity and inequality. By integrating this text into our curriculum, we aim to nurture a critical analytical perspective that encourages students to question societal norms, engage in meaningful discussions, and empower them to advocate for justice and equality.

Your support in this endeavor will not only provide essential educational resources but will also inspire our students to connect historical struggles to contemporary issues. This project is more than just about reading a book; it's about inspiring students to become conscious, informed citizens who are motivated to effect positive change in their communities and beyond.
