Inspiring Books

Help me give my students books to use to inspire their personal narratives and get them motivated to read.

My Students

My students are active learners. They play sports, act in plays and know each other's families. These students understand the meaning of collaboration and learning. They know many personal things about each other's lives. The neighborhood that they live in has houses in close proximity to the other homes. They can walk to school or to their friends’ houses.

My school is a large part of the community.

The population of my students varies every year. This year I have a group of 3rd graders. Every year, I have students with diverse learning needs. They want to be active in their learning and are very curious. They want to be empowered to learn.

My Project

My students are a new grade level for me. These books will inspire and create a motivation for learning. I have noticed a big benefit in having books that kids can relate to. The students are more inclined to read and pick up a book by the same author or series. In this donors project, I am choosing these types of books.

Another benefit to gathering books that connect to my students is that they will want to write ( use this as a mentor text).

We are currently working on personal narrative writing. I chose some books that will motive the students.
