Our students are a great group of students from a rural town in Pennsylvania. They are enthusiastic, creative , hard working and curious about the world. They are part of a Title 1 school where many families have low income. Our school community looks for various ways to bring culture and diversity to their learning. Due to limited funding, the library is not always able to support their curiousity and experiences.
We need to look for outside support to bring new updated books for our students.
We try to bring many different experiences to them so they can learn in various ways. Books are one resource our students still enjoy to use .
My Project
Our current collection of biographies is old and not very interesting. With limited library budgets, we are rarely able to fund this area. We are constantly striving to bring the world to them and explore their interests. By providing these biographies my students can connect with historical people, athletes, and inventors that have helped formed their world.
My project will provide updated diverse biographies that students can read and use for research.
Our school does a Living Wax museum based on famous people. These books can be used to help them research different exciting people. They can also be read for fun .
