My Project
Students spend the majority of their waking hours in school, and it is my quest to ensure that each and every one of them feels welcome, inspired, and comfortable in my classroom.
Meeting the social-emotional needs of all learners is an essential stepping stone to academic growth and achievement.
The materials that I have selected range from flexible seating options, to inspirational posters, to items for use in my calming corner, to a map that I plan to use for culturally responsive activities, and all address aspects of curating a safe, welcoming space.
When school begins in the fall, these items will set the tone for the year my students will spend with me: we will become a family, and everyone will feel welcomed, valued, and safe.
