My Project

You have the power to give our students access to impactful literature! Last year, Ms. Benko and I (we co-teach English Language Arts 8) heard many of our 8th grade students tell us that they had their first experience of finishing a book in all of middle school. We saw the way reading created a sense of excitement, passion, and empathy even in reluctant readers.

These new books will give our students more examples of powerful but accessible literature to build their confidence and engagement.

They need this to be high-school-ready in a few short months! This lauded novel in prose adds depth, dimension, and middle school energy to our curriculum.
