it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am working to create an engaging and enriching book club experience within my classroom to challenge my gifted students with higher-level texts. These carefully selected books are not only aligned with their interests but are also designed to encourage critical thinking, deep inquiry, and meaningful discussions.
My goal is to foster a love for reading while providing an opportunity for students to analyze complex themes, build comprehension skills, and engage in thoughtful discourse with their peers.
To ensure all students can participate in a way that best supports their learning needs, I also plan to incorporate extra motivation and hands-on STEM activities. These activities using the STEM magnetic tiles will serve as meaningful brain breaks for students who benefit from shorter instructional periods, allowing them to stay engaged without feeling overwhelmed. By offering a variety of ways to interact with the material, I hope to create a flexible and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.
Additionally, a large visual timer will be an essential tool in keeping our book club structured and organized. Having a clear and visible time management system will help students stay on task, develop independence in pacing their discussions, and maintain a productive flow during our meetings.
